The Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang H.E. Lu Shiwei has expressed his hope that Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) will keep upholding its quality education and cultural exchange programmes between Malaysia and China.
“The China’s Consulate-General office will always try its best to support the Chinese institutions in Malaysia and continuously promote the educational collaboration between China and Malaysia.
“We also hope the good relationship we have with HCUC will strengthen the collaboration between China and Malaysia in promoting and providing better services for Chinese education,” he said during the launching ceremony of HCUC’s newly-refurbished admission counselling office, recently.
It marked his first time visiting HCUC since taking up the role as the Consul-General two months ago.

Han Chiang Board of Directors chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing expressed his appreciation to the Chinese Consulate-General office for not only providing financial support, but also donating musical instruments and books from the Consulate office and Chinese Affairs Office of Guangdong Province.
“Han Chiang is a non-profit organisation, which relies on the support from the Board of Directors, state government, alumni, Chinese community and education enthusiasts for any development projects as well as improving the hardware and software facilities.
“Thus, we are grateful for the support given by the Consulate-General office,” he said.
Among those present at the launching ceremony were representatives from China’s Consulate-General office in Penang, members of the Han Chiang Board of Directors, namely Executive Advisor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Tan Kok Ping JP, who is also the Chancellor of HCUC, Honorary Advisor Dato’ Seri Ng Tee Soo, Chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing, Vice Chairman Lee Joo Ping, Vice Chairman Dato’ Seri Hong Yeam Wah, Honorary Secretary Datuk Tan Hiang Joo, HCUC Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi, Han Chiang High School principal Kung Bee Lee and Han Chiang Primary School principal Lee Hong Choo.
