In conjunction with the #HCUCturns1, our student journalists talked to some students on how they feel about HCUC. Let’s hear it from them!
“I’ve just graduated with my Diploma in Broadcast Journalism recently, and I chose to come back to HCUC to pursue my studies. The lecturers are helpful especially when you encounter problems in your studies. HCUC also provides good broadcasting facilities for students to use. Not only that, HCUC organises many activities for students to participate in and showcase their talents. In fact, I am glad I have been given many opportunities to be the emcee for events organised by HCUC.” – Lau Jia Yong, Bachelor of Communication (Media Production) Hons.
“I was indecisive at first in the choice of the right college to further my studies. It was not till my sister who recommended HCUC that I finally made up my mind as she felt that it would be the best option for me since I am keen on furthering studies related to Public Relations. She advised me to enrol here (HCUC) because the UC offers good programmes including Mass Communication. The affordable fee is also one of the reasons that sparked my interest to study in HCUC.” – Annisa Afandi, Diploma in Mass Communication
“I like the environment in HCUC – friendly atmosphere and supportive lecturers. These are the factors that made me want to come back to pursue my Degree in HCUC after graduating with a Diploma in Mass Communication last year.” – Chiow Hooi Chean, Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) Hons.
“HCUC has created many platforms for me to explore my talents and learn new skills. As a journalism student, I had a number of opportunities to interview public figures and write articles for print and online news. HCUC News has also given me and fellow student journalists much exposure on what is happening in the media industry.” – Chew Ru Xuan, Diploma in Mass Communication
“HCUC lecturers do inspire me a lot. They are skilful, approachable and would encourage the students to participate in many activities for a better understanding of what we have learned in classes.” – Goh Li Yin, Diploma in Multimedia Communication Design
“I have a strong interest in the logistics sector, hence, my mother helped me research on the colleges that offer a programme related to this field and finally recommended me to pursue my Diploma here. I like the environment in HCUC and I hope the UC will keep growing. And, yes, I hope people would not think that only the Chinese can join HCUC, because it is definitely opened to all.” – Nur Ain Fatihah, Diploma in Logistics Management
“Studying in HCUC made me a better person as there are many new things I learn every day. I was given an opportunity by HCUC to participate in the Malaysia-Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Programme 2018 and it was a good platform for me to explore different cultures.” – Chan Sze Hwa, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Chinese Studies
