Blood donation campaign at HCUC

Saving lives is a noble deed and should be inculcated for a better society.

With this objective, Han Chiang University College of Communication is organising a blood donation campaign at its campus on Sept 11, 2019.

Organising committee chairman Mr Prakash Velloo, who is also Dean, School of Languages and Translation, said the campaign, from 9.30am to 1pm, aimed to save lives by making the timely availability of the required group of blood.

“We have invited Penang State Exco Member YB Dr Afif Bin Bahardin to launch the campaign, which is being organised in conjunction with Han Chiang Centennial Celebration this year,“ he said.

He added that this life-saving effort is a noble community service project carried out in collaboration with Hospital Pulau Pinang to reach out and help the needy.

“We hope to attract 100 blood donors comprising all three Han Chiang institutions’ staff and students, Han Chiang alumni and the public who are expected to be present at the event.”

There will also be a talk on healthy lifestyle by a medical officer.

“Let us nurture a compassionate and sharing attitude for the betterment of the society,” he added.
