GEORGETOWN: Han Chiang College (HCC) is proud to announce that Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia has granted it the university college status.
The approval comes at the right time as it is ready to take off its homegrown Bachelor of Communication (Advertising) (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) Creative Multimedia programmes in April 2018. In addition, there are six other Bachelor’s Degree and one Master’s programmes which are in the pipeline to be offered soon.
To further boost its homegrown Bachelor’s Degree programmes, it is also discussing with universities in China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia and United Kingdom to confer its graduates with dual-award degrees.
HCC, which now bears the name Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUCC), boasts of the state-of- art facilities including its multimedia mac lab, library with digital cataloguing system, TV studio, radio studio, audio studio and creative media centre on its campus along Jalan Lim Lean Teng.
HCUCC Vice Chancellor, Dr Beh Kok Hooi commended the Board of Directors and staff of HCUCC for all the hard work which has paid off.
He also specially thanked Han Chiang Board of Directors for the financial support, improvement in staff welfare and fulfilment of the capital investment criteria.
“The great news is not just the series of new homegrown programs, we have also started to upgrade our facilities i.e. greenscreen and refreshing the TV studio and equipment to the latest,” he said.
He added, “our focus is not just upgrading facilities and programs, but we are going to invest in human capital as well, being a higher education institution, the core remains our academic excellence and quality, as such, apart from providing education opportunity to our existing academic staff, we shall continue to fortify our teaching resources”.

Dr Beh also mentioned that HCUCC is committed to continue providing affordable and quality education to all; for deserving students, scholarships and bursaries will also be offered to make sure that their education journey with HCUCC is without financial worries.
